Serving the WorldAt Jog Road, we believe that every follower of Jesus Christ is called to a life of service. There are various ways in which this takes shape. 1 Corinthians 12 teaches that different parts of the body serve uniquely to edify and build up the church. For those who feel a specific calling to works of service, the following opportunities are available: South Dakota MissionCheyenne Indian ReservationJedediah and Sally Jezek were called out of Jog Road Baptist Church more than 14 years ago, as missionaries to the Native Americans living in La Plant, South Dakota. This area of our country is one of stunning beauty, but also has great spiritual need, especially among the Native Americans. Jedediah is the pastor of La Plant Baptist Church. His wife, Sally leads ministries for women, children and teenage girls. The Jezeks also reach out to surrounding areas such as Green Grass, Swift Bird and White Horse.
JRBC provides financial support and has sent short-term teams to serve alongside the Jezeks in their ongoing ministries. If you are interested in participating on a short term trip, please contact Ryan Vaides. JRBC@JogRoad.com Mission Peru - An Open DoorDriven by our desire to love God, love others and serve the world, JRBC entered into a partnership with REAP North and Grant Avenue Baptist Church located in Corvallis, Oregon. The purpose for this partnership is to engage people groups from three remote villages in Peru. Huamantanga, Quipan and Marco have been identified as villages where we feel there is an "open door" for the gospel and our desire is to establish a healthy self-supporting church in each of these communities by 2014. JRBC’s initial strategy has been to provide for the physical needs of the people and establish relationships through medical, veterinary, agricultural and school assistance.
In July 2011, a short term team was sent out to conduct medical clinics in these villages. Approximately 200 patients were provided with free medical care and medicines. Many relationships were developed as a result of these clinics. Evangelism teams followed up with patients and prayed for their physical and spiritual needs. Bible studies were held nightly in each community in an effort to engage people with the gospel. Several short term teams will be sent out from JRBC over the next few years. Should you have an interest in serving with one of these teams, please contact Keith Albert or Larry Hiler. JRBC@JogRoad.com |
